The Paper Players Color Challenge 249

Happy hump day! It's time to play with The Paper Players! A big thank you to Sandy who is hosting the color challenge for us this week. Real Red, Pool Party, Island Indigo are the challenge colors, so lets get to my card.

I had to giggle while making this card. A red, white and blue butterfly, how patriotic! Well there may not be such a thing but it was sure fun to create.

Let's Get To The Details
  • Prepare a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 Whisper White card base
  • Cut CS layers: 5 1/4 x 3 1/8 Island Indigo, 5 1/8 x 3 Pool Party and 5 x 2 3/4 Whisper White
  • Stamp dotted strips from Watercolor Wings stamp set to top and bottom of card with Real Red
  • Stamp "Just For You" in Real Red Ink onto Whisper White banner and adhere Island Indigo Bakers Twine bow with a glue dot
  • Stamp 3 step butterfly with Island Indigo and Pool Party Ink and then cut out using medium size butterfly from Butterflies Thinlits Dies
  • Adhere layers to card front, attach butterfly with Tomboy Mono Liquid Glue and apply a Real Red Candy Dot for the butterfly head
Hope you liked my card today! Happy Stamping!

PPA Color Challenge 255

Good morning friends! I am down to the wire on my entry for PPA Color Challenge for this week.  I LOVE the colors Early Espresso, Marina Mist and Sahara Sand when combined together.  Hope you like my clean and simple card today.

It's All In The Details
  • Score a piece of 4 1/4 x 11 Sahara Sand CS at 5 1/2 and fold to make the base of your card
  • Cut a piece Whisper White CS to 4 x 5 1/4 and score all around the edges using the first two score lines on the Simply Scored Scoring Tool
  • Stamp the "Better Get Better" sentiment from the Flower Shop stamp set in Early Espresso on the Whisper White CS
  • Stamp 2 flower images, one with Marina Mist and one with Early Espresso Ink onto a piece of coordinating CS
  • Punch images out with the Pansy Punch
  • Fussy cut the inner portion of the Early Espresso flower and adhere to the center of the Marina Mist flower
  • Add a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the center of the flower
  • Apply Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of the Whisper White CS and adhere to the card base
There you have it easy peasy!

If you have any questions about my card today don't hesitate to email me. I would love to hear from you.

Until next time.......

Wishing you a happy day!

I don't know about your neck of the woods but we are getting dumped with tons of rain. Looking on the bright side of things, which I always try to do, is that our flowers are growing beautifully, thus the inspiration for my card today....

  • Make you own card base using an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of Crumb Cake CS cut to 6 x 8 and scored at the 4 inch mark on the long side. I used the SU Bone Folder to make a nice crisp fold.
  • Stamp the floral image onto a piece of Whisper White CS cut to 2 x 4 3/4. I used Melon Mambo and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers to ink my stamp. Don't forget to huff on the stamp before stamping! I used an Aqua Painter over the image to give it a watercolor look.
  • I thought the white background could use a little extra something so I lightly tapped the spatter stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge set with Tip Top Taupe. I also tapped a little bit onto 2 x 1 piece of Whisper White CS that I used for the tag.
  • Cut a piece of Melon Mambo CS to 2 1/4  x 5 and adhere the stamped image.
  • Stamp the honeycomb background image from the Butter Basics set in White Ink across the middle of the CS base.
  • Adhere layered stamped image to center of card base using SNAIL Adhesive.
  • Die cut the medium butterfly from the Butterfly Thinlits in Pear Pizzazz CS as this will give a  little contrast against the Old Olive ink used in the flower stem. Layer over a 3 inch piece of Tip Top Taupe 1" Dotted Lace Trim using Fast Fuse to insure that it doesn't go anywhere.
  • Stamp the sentiment onto the tag using Melon Mambo ink, add a bow made out of Linen Thread and adhere to the butterfly.
  • Don't forget to add a little bling with the Rhinestone Basic Jewels!

If you have any questions about my card or interest in any of the products I used I'd love to hear from you. Thanks so much for visiting my blog today! Until next time.....

Happy Stamping!
