EBTKS Challenge #16

Happy Memorial Day weekend my friends. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Everything But The Kitchen Sink is hosting a new challenge on their blog today sponsored by DeNami Design. And the challenge is....... Nail Polish! All you need to do is use nail polish in a creative way in your design. This was tough one for me but I was up for the challenge. I decided that I wanted to use my favorite pink nail polish and grabbed two of my favorite flowers from my DeNami Design collection. Can you guess which ones? You got it... the Small Daisy Blossom and Large Daisy Blossom. I filled a bowl with water and then added a few drops of the nail polish. I took white cardstock and laid it on top of the water for a few seconds. Then I pulled the cardstock through the water and to my amazement a funky background image was created. It was so much fun. I felt like I was in art class again. :)

After letting the cardstock dry I colored my daisies with Copic markers and used pop dots to add some dimension. I decided to use the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the All Occasion Sentiments stamp set from DeNami. This is definitely one of my "go to" sets. It is so versitile! I got out a pair of mini scallop scissors from Fiskars that I haven't used for a long time and used it as a border on my sentiment tag for just a little something extra. I thought my card could use a little extra bling so I added some of my favorite rhinestones from Recollections. After adding a black strip of cardstock with a little white stitching rub on I added some of DeNami's Sheer Black/White Dots Ribbon for a little bit of sas! Hope you like it. :)

Don't forget to hop on over to the EBTKS blog today and join some of the other DeNami DT members for some fun!

Have a blessed Memorial Day!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope your week is going great so far. I have a quick easy card to share with you today. I decided to try DeNami's Chocolate Brown and Iridescent Aquamarine cardstock together.  I don't use these colors in tandem often and I'm not sure why because I really liked the end result. The stamps I chose to use are DeNami's Small Congratulations, Mini Solid Filigree and the Solid Decorative Crest which is one of my favorites! I used some Craft White ink from Stampin Up and added a touch of DeNami's  3/8" Chocolate Brown Grosgrain ribbon. I have a recent college grad in mind to receive this card. Hope you like it. :)

Have a blessed day!

A Belated Birthday......

Has time ever gotten away from you and prevented you from wishing someone a Happy Birthday? No worries with the adorable Turtle w/ Presents and "Happy Belated Birthday"sentiment from DeNami Design. Isn't he just the cutest darn thing. This card went together in a jiff! I had some fun striped ribbon from Archiver's that I have been wanting to use and the colors seemed to work perfectly. Don't you just love it when that happens.

The inspiration for my card came from the sketch above at Card Patterns. They are having their weekly sketch challenge on their blog so hop on over and join in the fun!

Have a great week!!!!

Hugs and Smiles,

Laurie :)

Its Graduation Time With DeNami's Featured Product

Every year at this time I say the same thing...."I can't believe how fast the year has gone" The older I get the quicker the years seem to go by. With that being said graduation time is upon us and I am quickly making cards for special graduates.

DeNami Design blog is featuring their Graduation Owl on their blog today and is he ever cute! My card came together so quickly using DeNami's Graduation Owl the Medium Double Circle and the Congratulations sentiment.  Our town's school colors are black and orange so that made my color choice simple. I love DeNami's selection of Marvy Scallop Circle punches. I used the 2" punch for this card. I colored Mr. Owl with some Copics and attached him to the scallop circle and finished it off with some of DeNami's 3/8" Black Grosgrain Ribbon....Easy peasy!!!!

Happy Wednesday and thanks so much for stopping by.

Color Cue #4 Challenge At WPlus9 Design Studio...

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope your weekend has been great. It is turning out to be a sunny day here in the Midwest. I need to get out today and get some flowers planted. Okay onto to business..... If you are looking for a challenge this week my blog friend Dawn at WPlus9 Design Studio is hosting Color Cue Challenge #4. The challenge is to use Papertrey Ink's Spring Rain, Enchanted Evening, Lemon Tart and Stamper's Select White or Stampin' Up's Bashful Blue, Not Quite So Navy, and So Saffron. All you need to do is create a card, scrapbook page, digital layout, tag or whatever you want using the above colors.

I have been getting a lot of mileage out of the Funky Foliage stamp set from WPlus 9. It is such a versitile set and I am always thinking of other ways to use it. I decided to use the Large Scallop die from PTI and stamped the scallops with the plaid tree top from Funky Foliage in So Saffron from SU. I think it really makes the scallops POP! I also created my background paper with the dashed circle and solid circle from the Funky Foliage set using Enchanted Evening from PTI and So Saffron. Here is my finished card. Hope you like it. :)

Hope you are having good weather in your neck of the woods. I am out the door to get some flowers and enjoy the rest of this beautiful day!

Wishing you the best!

Laurie :)

Happy Mothers Day!

Hope you are having a happy day! I thought I would do a quick post today to share a card and gift card box that I gave to my mother in law for Mother's Day. I love the cash and charge collection templates from PTI.  She is so fond of the color red and I have had some tulip paper from K & Company that I have been wanting to use. I die cut the tulips and used my glue pen and some extra glitter from Stampendous to give the card a little extra sparkle. I enclosed a gift card from Bath & Body Works in the box because I know that she loves the Wallflower plug-in diffusers. They have the best smell! My favorite is Clean Citrus, smells so fresh and clean.

Gotta a run. I'm going out for a frozen coffee drink with my daughter. Mmmm.......
Hope you are enjoying some time with someone you love today.

DeNami's Color Challenge #2

Glad you stopped by today! DeNami Design is hosting color challenge #2 inspired by Beka, one of DeNami's talented DT members. The challenge was to use the colors; pink, turquoise, green, white and black.

I chose the Rosebud Trio stamp set, one of my DeNami favs, and the All Occasion Sentiment stamp set that is so versatile. I knew that I wanted to sass up the card a bit with the polka dot ribbon and thought I could tie the card background in by embossing it with Small Dots by Sizzix. A little bit of glitter, a few pop dots and I was good to go. Easy Peasy!

Don't forget to visit the other DeNami DT members blogs for some great inspiration! Hope you are having a good day and thank you so much for making me a part of it.

Papertrey Paper Dolls Challenge #2

Happy Monday dear friends! I hope you all had a great weekend and a chance to scrapbook a page or two on National Scrapbook Day. Papertrey Paper Dolls is hosting challenge #2 on their blog this week. This gives you PTI lovers a chance to use all your wonderful products, so head over and join the fun. Whoo Hooo!

I chose the recently released Hawaiian Shores which I think is so cheery. Gotta love that color. :) I used two of my newly purchased dies, the Small Scallop and Beautiful Blooms #3. The flowers are done in the new PTI felt that you can cut through like butter. I'm loving the Boutique papers with six patterns to choose from. I really like the way they paired the Hawaiian Shores up with the New Leaf, great color combo don't you think? I actually can't believe that I didn't use any ribbon on my project since it is one of my favorite "go to" items, but it seemed to work well without. Hope you like it.

Tune in Wednesday for DeNami Design's color challenge. The DT gals will be sure to give you lots of creative inspiration. Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Hugs and Blessings,

Laurie :)
