A quick post today as it is the last day to enter Papertrey Paper Dolls challenge #1. I am loving my Enjoy The Ride stamp set from PTI. I decided to get a head start on my graduation cards this year and I have a special someone in mind to receive this card.

I downloaded the new March Color Couture Vol 2 Paper and Templates and I am IN LOVE with the color combos. It takes all of the guess work out, thanks to Dawn McVey. Hope you are having a happy day! Thanks for stopping by.

Hello Sweet Friends....

I have been having a lot of fun lately using my assortment of impression plates. They really seem to make cards pop don't they? Today I decided to use my Large Paisley impression plate from Sissix. This plate really gives a very defined impression.

So, as I am tried to decide what stamp I want to use I am looking around thinking how can I find a thing in this war zone. I mean really my office is soooo bad. No really, I am serious, I even took a picture and as embarrassing as it is to show you I thought it might motivate me to clean it up!

In the mess I found a corduroy button that I took a red lipstick Copic to about a week ago and then set it aside. I got to thinking..... this might look really cute as a cherry. I found my Large Cherry stamp from DeNami and the button fit in the cherry almost perfectly! Isn't it funny how create thoughts take shape? I know the cherry ribbon was going a bit overboard on the cherry theme but I have had it in my ribbon stash for so long that I just had to use it.

Anyway, I hope you like my card today. Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. I better go and clean up my space now.

Have a blessed day!

Laurie :)

Missing You...

I missed you all over the weekend. My daughter turned 21 and we celebrated this milestone by having our family over for brunch. It is so hard to believe that my youngest is 21. I'm feeling a bit old. Sorry that I am running late with my post today but I was so busy over the weekend preparing for her party and I had to work today so everything else just had to wait.

I created a "missing you" card that I am sending to a friend that I just don't get to see enough. I pulled out one of my favorite stamp sets Funky Foliage from WPlus9 to create this simple card. I have been having a lot of fun with this set.

Our lives get soooo busy don't they? We just need to slow down and enjoy wonderful times with family and friends. I hope you had a chance to spend some time with someone you love over the weekend.

Have a great week.

Hugs,

Laurie :)

Color Cue Challenge At WPlus9 Design Studio...

Looking for a challenge? You are sure to find it over at the WPlus9 Design Studio blog. Dawn is hosting Color Cue Challenge #3 using the colors, white, melon, gray/blue and golden yellow. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical as to how I was going to use these colors, as I have never combined them together before.

I pulled out a recently purchased stamp set called "Funky Foliage" from WPlus9 that I have been having a lot of fun with.  I thought I would try to use the polka dot treetop stamp for petals on my flower and it worked perfectly! I LOVE the versatility of this set.

I was pleasantly surprised with how well the colors worked together, so thank you Dawn for getting me out of my comfort zone. You have until May 7th to get in on the challenge so go on and join in the fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Laurie :)

DeNami's Featured Product...

Happy Hump Day! I always feel like I'm over the hump when Wednesday rolls around. Although lately the weeks have been flying by. We have been busy over on the DeNami blog this week. DeNami is highlighting another one of their adorable stamps today. The name of the stamp is Safari Animals and is it ever cute.

Whenever I see these cute little critters I think of Barnum's Animal Crackers. You know, the crackers that come in the cute red box with the white shoestring tie. I absolutely LOVE them..... yum. I decided to use one of DeNami's 2 ¾ x 2 ¾ white boxes for my project. I cut a circle out of the top of the box with my circle cutter and then used transparency paper to create a window effect. This was really fun to create and I think it would work well as a safari theme party favor. It was a good thing that I bought two boxes of Barnum's because I polished off one box while creating my project. Mmmmmm......

EBTKS is hosting a sketch challenge this week and I thought this little box would fit the bill perfectly. There are so many great ideas over on their blog so don't forget to hop on over and check it out.

Thanks for making me part of your day!

Hugs and Smiles,

Laurie :)

Strawberries and Chocolate....

Is there anything better than strawberries and chocolate? Since I am having so much fun with my new strawberry stamp from DeNami I thought I would make a gift tin full of chocolates to go along with the Thank you note that I posted yesterday. I love the large hinged tins with the clear covers from PTI. I  stamped my strawberry image in the middle of a white label and colored it with Copics, and then I wrapped the label around the Hershey's Nugget and VOILA, you're good to go. Easy peasy!

Hope you have a happy Wednesday. Thank you so much for stopping by.

I love strawberries!

I know that spring is here when I can go to the store and get really good strawberries. I just love those little guys or gals sliced up and mixed in yogurt, baked in bread or pie or even just alone...YUM. I just got a new stamp set in the mail today called Tropical Fruit from DeNami. This set has a strawberry, a citrus slice and two watermelon slices that are very cute. I think I am going to have lots of fun these.

Sketch #49 over at Taylored Expressions was my source of inspiration for this card. I used ribbon to create the illusion as if I had ran the ribbon up through the center of the card. I really just tied a bow and put a medium size ZOT on the back of it and stuck it in the center of my card. I ran ribbon underneath the strawberry piece so that it looked as though I ran the ribbon up the center and tied it. I just love the color red, it's so bright and cheery. As a matter of fact, I am sitting here in my red strawberry pajamas typing this post. :)

What are your favorite colors or color combos? I'd love to hear. Thanks for stopping by today.

Hugs and Smiles,

Laurie

Delightful Dahlia....

Happy Monday! The weather is really warming up here in my neck of the woods and it is starting to feel a little bit more like spring. I decided to get out my new Delightful Dahlia set from PTI and get to work on a birthday card for a friend. This set is a lot of fun. There are so many possibilities with all of the different sentiments to choose from.

I am trying to learn the art of coloring and shading with Copics. I feel like a little kid in art class every time I get them out. So much FUN! I also decided to use my new medium scallop die from PTI with some felt that I purchased at Hobby Lobby last week. It worked really slick and I like the texture that it brings to the card.

I really appreciate all of your sweet comments. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Thinking of you....

And wishing you a Happy Easter weekend. I've been a little pressed for time this week and decided to pull out a paper kit from TPC Studio to make a quick card. The colors in this kit are so vibrant and spring-like don't you think? I cut out a flower and used a little Glossy Accents from Ranger on it to give it a little pop. I love that stuff! I grabbed a rub on sentiment and the card was done in a jiffy.

I am thankful for all of you and your sweet comments. Have a blessed Easter!

Laurie :)
