Gift for mom

I am hoping you are all doing well on this Wednesday morning. I thought I would give you a peek at my moms Mother's Day gift. She loves to read and also really enjoys going to Borders cafe and getting a Chai Tea Latte, so I thought I would get her a Borders gift card. Gift cards can be a little impersonal so I decided to make a gift card holder from the cash or charge template collection at PTI. I have used this template so often as the possibilities are endless. Hopefully, my mom won't check my blog today. :)

Have a wonderful day.... Hugs and smiles,

Laurie

Happy Monday!

I hope your Monday is off to a good start. With Mother's Day right around the corner I thought it would be nice to post a Happy Mother's Day card. I used my new Decorative Flourish stamp from DeNami Design with a little glitter. It's subtle but I liked the softness that it created. I made the flower with some patterned paper from Anna Griffin. Stay tuned as I will be posting part II of my Mother's Day gift on Wednesday.

Enjoy your day and have a blessed week.

Laurie :)

Dreams do come true....

Have you ever dreamed about something and never thought that it would become a reality? Well... I am here today to tell you that dreams really do come true. DeNami Design announced their new design team members today on their blog and I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw my name. For as long as I can remember I have loved stamping, scrapbooking and paper crafting and have dreamed this dream that I am now living. God is good.

I am so honored to be chosen as a DT member for DeNami Design. Their line of stamps are so adorable and versatile making it so easy to create beautiful things. Thank you to DeNami's owners Nami, Gary and Paulina. I look so forward to working with you and the rest of the DT members!

Have a blessed day and never stop dreaming. :)

Paper Hugs Color Challenge...

It is an absolutely beautiful day here in the Midwest! There is not a cloud in the sky and I am enjoying the sunshine and thought I would send you some too. Kim Hughes is having a color challenge at Paper Hugs all week long, and there are some really cute cards that have been created. I don't use orange much so I thought I would venture out of my comfort zone to make this card. A little paper, ribbon, button and glitter.... Easy peasy!

Hope you are having a day filled with sunshine.

Here comes Peter Cottontail....

Don't you just love this time of year when the promise of Spring is in the air and all of our furry friends come out of hibernation. We have so many bunnies running around our yard and my Miniature Schnauzer, Buddy, can't wait to get outside to play with them. With Easter just around the corner I decided to create a card in honor of the "Easter Bunny".

I lined the envelope flap with a trick that I learned from my friend and fellow stamper Mary Fish. Mary is the one of the kindest and most creative people I know. I have attached her tutorial so that you can meet her yourself.

I hope in your neck of the woods you are experiencing some of the joys of the Spring season.

Have a blessed weekend,

Laurie :)

Poppy Seed Challenge #2

Good Morning everyone!
It's going to be a beautiful day here in the Midwest and I can't think of a better way to start the day than with a card challenge. Poppy Paperies Poppy Seed Challenge #2 is sure to be fun using buttons, polka dots and moss green. I used the same card template that I used in my Crazy for Daisies post yesterday so it went together lickety split. Hop on over to Lisa's blog, you won't be disappointed.

Have a blessed day. :)

Crazy for daisies....

I just can't get enough of all the daisy prints this time of the year. I am loving my new daisy stamp that I purchased last week at the DeNami booth. It is so much fun to work with, so many options. For this card I stamped my daisy images with pigment ink and then embossed them with black embossing powder to create a shiny raised image. Then I cut the images out and curled the petals just a bit to create a little more depth and attached them to the flowers with some of my Making Memories brads. I used a white corduroy brad and colored it yellow with my yellow Copic marker Y17. I don't know how I ever got along without my Copic markers, I absolutely LOVE them. I created my scallop border with SU scallop punch and then I punched the center of each scallop with a small hole punch. I had this funky paper from American Crafts in my paper stash and thought it would finish off the card nicely. Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy St. Patricks Day!
