Hi Everyone!!!! I am heading to the CHA SuperShow in Chicago tomorrow to work at the DeNami Design booth so I decided to give away some sweetness while I'm away.

Okay, so heres the deets...... leave a comment on my blog by Saturday, July 31st at midnight (CDT) and I will enter you into a drawing for the Sissix Sizzlets Decorative Strip "Loopy Flowers". If you decide to follow my blog you can leave another comment and if you mention my blog candy give-away on your blog and provide a link to my blog you can leave an additional comment.  The more comments you are able to leave, the better chance you have to win. :) So, good luck to all of you!!!

I will announce the winner on my blog on Sunday, August 1st.  Hopefully, I will have lots of photos to share with you from CHA. Take care and have a blessed week.

New Look....

Hmmm....... not sure about my new look. I found out today that I needed to change my blog design as it is expiring August 1st. Eeeek... those of you who know me know that I am technically challenged to say the least, but I managed to get a new blog banner and even make changes to it in Photoshop which is HUGE for me.

My DeNami DT buddy Jenny blogged this week about Basic Grey freebie blog banners, so I hopped on over to their website and picked up this simple one. Thanks for the tip Jenny. I want it to be centered though and I have been trying for over an hour with no luck. Oh well, I keep telling myself change is good right?

Make sure to stop my blog on Wednesday this week. I am going to give away some blog candy in honor of the CHA SuperShow for those of you who aren't able to go.

If you have any suggestions for making my blog prettier I would really appreciate them. Hope you are all having a great weekend. After all this work I am in the mood for popcorn and an old movie. :)

Have a great night!

Laurie :)

You're on my heart....

Hi're on my heart today and I just want you all to know how much I appreciate your kind and thoughtful words. I only wish that I could reach out and give you all a big hug! I have been in a bit of a design slump lately so your words of encouragment mean a lot. :)

I put together this card today using a few of my favorite stamps from DeNami Designs. I am in love with the Decorative Flourish and the You're on my heart sentiment stamp. The perfect combo to let someone know how special they are to you.

I hope you all have a blessed weekend!

Featured Product At DeNami!

Happy Wednesday to you all! Today is feature product day over on the DeNami Design Blog. The featured product is the new Owl Petit Fours. These little guys are just adorable and so much fun to work with. I also used another new Petit Four stamp set called Elegant Floral to create my patterned background. I know I am going to use this set a lot, so many possibilities.

I decided to cut each of the owls out and pop them on this card to create a bit more dimension. I used DeNami's Wavy Stem Trio stamp as a branch for my owls. I pulled out my oval and oval scallop Spellbinders and cut some cream cardstock for my base. DeNami's new "Owl always be your friend" stamp was the perfect sentiment for this simple card.

Make sure you head over to the design blog and check out the other creations from all of the DeNami design team members.

Have a blessed day!

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas......

Yes, I am listening to Christmas music as I post today. I have been working on some Christmas card designs and needed a little inspiration. Actually a little bit of the white fluffy stuff sounds good right now as we have been in a heat wave here in the Midwest. It is 93 degrees and extremely humid today. Thank goodness for air conditioning.(at least until the A/C bill arrives. :) )

My card today is inspired by DeNami Designs new Elegant Floral Circle stamp. This is a beautiful stamp! I look forward to using it for cards and gift tags as well. I also tried a new pleated ribbon technique from my friend Paulina. If you click here you can view her ribbon tutorial, she does an awesome job teaching this technique!

If any of you are going to be in the Chicago area July 30 & 31st make sure you come to the CHA Craft Supershow. It is definitely an event you won't want to miss. There are hundreds of vendors and make and takes. I will be working at the DeNami Design booth #706 so if you get a chance to come please stop by and say Hi!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend. Make sure you visit the DeNami Design Blog on Tuesday for a new challenge.

Finally Finished.....

Hey there everyone! Just popping in today to show you my progress on my crafting room. I am finally finished rearranging and decluttering. It feels soooo good. I sorted through years of stash and am getting ready for a garage sale in August. I am also donating some of my gently used items to our cancer center for their patients to stamp and scrap with. I thought I would share a few pictures of my finished space.

This is what you see first when you enter my room. It looks like there is a long white mark on my floor but I think it is just a reflection from the window. I ended up just putting cubes together that I purchased at Michaels to make my desk. There is a ton of storage! Just about everything I need is at an arms length. Love that. :)

The shelf that my husband Tom made is where I have all of my wood mounted stamps. All of my clear mounted stamps are in the white cube underneath the little red lamp thats shade is crooked. Oops! I used more cubes to house all of my paper. I really like storing my paper vertically. The clipboard to the left of the shelf is where I keep track of design deadlines. Its my daily reminder since I have been having quite a few senior moments lately. :)

This is storage area is behind my desk for easy access to my ink pads, Copics and other embellishments. Oh.... and Tootsie Pops! Can't have a craft room without a little sugar, thats what makes it sweeeeet! I also keep all of my photos that are waiting to be scrapped in 3-up photo albums.

The embellishment station from Making Memories is where I keep my buttons, paint, ribbon. I also store lots of little embellies in Tilt Bins, they work great for small things. Underneath the desktop is where all of the rest of my photos and slides are housed. I love having everything all in one spot.

And last but not least, is my closet. I bought the organizer with the colored bins at Target. I store all of my additional project supplies in them. The white rectangular boxes I use for memorabilia for my whole family. All of my scrapbooks fit nicely on the shelf above.

If you are working on creating a craft space of your own I would love to see and hear your ideas. Well thats about it. I am so relieved to have this project completed.  Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Blessings to you,

Laurie :)

Time for another color challenge.....

Hope you are all enjoying your holiday weekend and had a Happy 4th of July. DeNami Design Blog is hosting a color challenge. The challenge is to use the equivalents to cream, kiwi kiss, cameo coral, spring moss and real red.  I really love this color combo. I thought I would use an owl from the new Owls Stamp set. This set is definitely on my favorites list. These owls are just too cute.

I also used the new Winter Evergreen Tree and took DeNami's Mini Polka Dot stamp to add a bit of color to the branches. The simple Hello sentiment from the Assorted Greetings Stamp set helped to finish off the card. I really like the simplicity of this card. I hope you like it too.

Make sure you hop on over to the blog and play along! Thanks for stopping by.

Have a wonderful week,

Laurie :)
