Product Challenge at DeNami!

Happy Saturday everyone! There is an exciting challenge going on over on the DeNami Design Blog today that you won't want to miss. Here is a sneak peek at the prize you could win. :)

The challenge features DeNami's templates and are they ever cute. I chose the purse template since it is one of my favorites. :) This little purse is just too cute and I thought it would make the perfect invitation.

I decided to use White, Black and Lime for my color choice. I wanted my purse to look very chic so I used my PTI's medium scallop die along with DeNami's Black CS to create a nifty scallop edge. I tucked the scallop under the front flap of the purse and adhered it with Score Tape. After cutting out my purse template I knew that I wanted to line the purse with DeNami's slightly textured Lime cardstock. I did this by making a copy of the purse template on my printer. Then I cut off the sides and bottom half of the template and placed it on the Lime CS, traced around it, cut it out and the liner fit perfectly! I set the liner aside until I finished making my purse handle. I created a handle using DeNami's Wh/Black Dots 5/8" ribbon. I made two slits with a craft knife on the top fold mark of the purse and slipped the ribbon through the slits and glued the ends down.

Then I covered the inside of the purse with the Lime liner so that I could hide the ribbon ends.

After making my liner I cut the top half of my template copy and set it aside to use to make the actual invite. I stamped the front of the purse with DeNami's Solid Decorative Crest and then I stamped the bottom front and back of the purse with DeNami's Mini Solid Filigree stamp. I used Stampin' Up's Kiwi Kiss as this ink matches perfectly with the Lime CS. I added a few rhinestones on the Crest and then finished putting my purse together with some Score Tape. I also added a velcro circle on the inside front flap to help keep the purse closed.

To make the written portion of the invite I grabbed the top half of my template copy that I set aside earlier and placed it on a piece of Lime CS, traced around it, cut it out, and then I had my base for the invite. I adhered a scallop border to the top of the Lime CS. Then I printed the words that I wanted to use in the invite in a 12 font on White CS and then positioned my template copy over the words and  repeated the step above, and then adhered it to the base. For the front of the base I printed out the words "You're Invited" in a 12 font on White CS and then stamped DeNami's Decorative Crest Circle using Tuxedo Black Memento ink over the top of the words using my handy dandy Stamp-a-ma-jig for proper placement.  I cut out the circle, added extra fine glitter and a few rhinestones and then adhered it to the front of my invite base.

What's a party without chocolate right? So..I included a Ghirardelli Mint in my invite.  I hope you like it!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

Laurie :)
